Most Asian markets rebound after Wall Street rout
Most Asian markets rebounded Friday after days of sharp declines in stocks around the world as investors scooped up battered financial and technology shares. Major regional benchmarks opened lower after Wall Street touched multiyear lows overnight but climbed into positive territory by midday. Oil prices, which had fallen below $49 a barrel to three-year lows in early Asian trading, also bounced back. But with signs of recession spreading around the globe, the outlook remains grim, analysts said.

Investors swarm Treasurys on carmaker fears
Investors flooded into government debt again on Thursday, launching the 30-year Treasury bond to a huge one-day gain as worries mounted about an auto industry collapse. The 30-year bond rose more than 9 points, hurtling its yield down to 3.46 percent _ the lowest level since the government started issuing the bond in 1977 _ from 3.91 percent Wednesday. 'It's the biggest move that the bond market has ever seen,' said Tom di Galoma, head of Treasurys trading at Jefferies & Co. 'Institutional investors are hiding out in Treasurys. There's no other place to hide but in Treasurys.'
